CompanyCam Helps Contractors Document Worksites

CompanyCam is a Lincoln, Nebraska-based app that enables contractors to document jobs, communicate with crews, and monitor and manage projects.

So, how does it work? Most contractors snap photos before, during, and after jobs. CompanyCam makes it easy for contractors to document work, preexisting damage or progress on a job by seamlessly storing project photos to the cloud. These photos are only accessible to team members and are organized by project location. With CompanyCam, contractors can store as many photos as they want, plus photos are synced instantly to all members of their crew with the app. After photos are synced, users have the ability to comment and tag directly on photos or projects. Lastly, CompanyCam enables the user to create quick PDF photo boards, project timelines for clients or before-and-after photos by selecting photos within a project’s gallery.

In June of this year, the company raised a $6M series A funding round lead by Blueprint Equity. CompanyCam plans to use the funds in order to accelerate its growth, expand its in-house and remote teams and increase functionality.

“We are very excited to be partners with CompanyCam,” said Bobby Ocampo, Managing Partner of Blueprint Equity. “The construction space — particularly the businesses CompanyCam serves — is massive yet highly fragmented; CompanyCam has grown tremendously serving small to medium-sized customers that have traditionally been underserved.”

The company also announced its plan in June of this year to make its app free for small companies. The free version grants up to three users and 50 saved projects.

“Letting customers use CompanyCam for free is key to our long-term vision of being the best way for contractors to work together in capturing field data and putting it to work,” Levi Nelson, Head of Product and COO of CompanyCam, said in the company’s news release. “It lowers the barrier for potential customers to see the value of CompanyCam and also paves the way for exciting collaborative enhancements to come.”

The Lincoln-based startup also recently unveiled CompanyCam Pro – a monthly subscription ($19/user each month) for companies that allows for unlimited users and projects. On top of that, the newly introduced CompanyCam Pro gives users access to unlimited video capture and integration plug-ins for industry CRMs, invoicing software, and more.

How did it start? In 2014, CompanyCam founder and CEO Luke Hansen worked for his family’s roofing business. Luke struggled to get his crews to capture and send him the necessary documentation for each job site. After he came up short in his search for an app or software to solve his problem, he decided to recruit some help and develop a solution; today, CompanyCam employs 48 full-time team members.
