Keep Your Space Fresh and Creative with Local Art Plug

Local Art Plug has big plans for 2023. Next July, they are partnering with Nebraska Innovation Campus to have art displayed throughout the summer. Accompanying the art display, there will be a closing event similar to a festival with music, dancing, food, and of course, art. Co-Founder Xavier is also collaborating with local art organizations such as Benson First Friday and the Omaha Summer Arts Festival to create a metaverse where digital art will be displayed. More information is coming soon!

Why Local Art Plug?

The problem Xavier encountered while on his creative journey was that he couldn’t find out who is doing what in the art scene. It was very difficult to find local artists who didn’t have a big gallery opening and even harder for artists to connect with patrons in their community.

The solution he found is mutually beneficial to artists and community members. Local Art Plug is creating residual income for artists, connecting artists to their community, and keeping patrons’ residences and businesses fresh and creative. Local Art Plug engages patrons through a subscription model where they are able to select art pieces on a rotating basis. This makes art accessible by connecting artists to patrons in their community and allows patrons an avenue to participate with, support, and purchase quality local art.

Local Art Plug hosts engaging and fun events. One of their most popular is an event every second and fourth Saturday called Creatives and Coffee where artists and patrons gather to network over a hot cup of joe.

How It Works

There are two main components. The first is that community members are able to subscribe to local art and discover artists. Local Art Plug helps patrons find the perfect work of art for their spaces, rotates art every 3 months, allows patrons to purchase or lease the art through payment installations, and handles the design, curation and installation of the art. The best part is that the subscription is 100% tax deductible.

The other component focuses on the artists by promoting their work through digital avenues, in person networking events, and partnerships with local art organizations. Future plans include partnering with local art organizations such as the Joslyn, Kaneko, Amplify Arts, Roberta & Bob Rogers Gallery, Project Project, Elva’sGallery 72, and Culxr House

Funding

Local Art Plug was founded in 2017 in Omaha, Nebraska by Xavier Jackson and Jeff Collins and has been bootstrapping up until this point. They are now applying for funding through grants. Their first $500 investment came from More Founders.
