  1. Scriptdrop – Columbus, Ohio

Scriptdrop delivers prescription drugs. In a recent interview, CEO Amanda Epp stated “ScriptDrop allows consumers to fill prescriptions from their preferred pharmacy, delivered to their doorstep. We’re a prescription delivery solution, not a dispensing pharmacy. We leave filling medication to pharmacists.” Scriptdrop raised $15 million on October 1st, 2020 in a Series A round and has seen tremendous growth due to the pandemic.

  1. Fleri  –  Columbus, Ohio

Fleri was founded by Sam Baddoo to provide health insurance to family members in different countries.  This allows the holder to work in one country and provide insurance in another.  Fleri launched on March 1, 2020 and has not raised any outside capital to date according to Crunchbase.

  1. Trialogue – Cleveland, Ohio

According to their website, Trialogue helps nonprofit organizations by forgoing the cumbersome and time-consuming RFP process.  The company steps in and carefully plays “match-maker”, connecting the company’s clients to qualified talent who can provide needed services for identified projects.  If you need help with this service, reach out to founder Thomas Sarago.

  1. Hyrmed – Highland Heights, Ohio

It is a good time to be in the medical staffing field – what with a global pandemic occurring.  Hyrmed provides a mobile solution for healthcare providers to meet hiring needs. According to Crunchbase , they have raised $645k in two rounds since 2017. Give founder Manoj Jhaveri a follow on Twitter (https://twitter.com/ManojJhaveri). 

  1. Folio Photonics – Solon, Ohio

According to Crunchbase, Folio Photonics raised $12.2 million in 2019 to provide archival data storage with a modern technology solution. According to their website, Folio DataFilm discs result in 5-8x lower media costs, 62x lower energy costs, and 12x lower migration costs.   1. Coterie Insurance – Cincinnati, Ohio

Coterie raised $8.5 million in March 2020 according to Crunchbase.  In October, they announced a business insurance partnership with Quickbooks.  Founded in 2018, Coterie provides an API approach to commercial insurance.

  1. Harper – Cincinnati, Ohio

Who doesn’t love a dog training app? According to their website, Harper is a digital dog training studio founded by Brendan Knotts, Robin Daugherty, and Nick Cramer. Their Instagram is full of the dog photos you need right now. 

  1. Gather – Cleveland, Ohio

They provide automated workflows within Slack for people operations managers (I think that means HR). Gather is backed by Y Combinator and was founded by John Wetzel, Alex Hilleary, and Brooks Sime.  According to Pitchbook, the company has also raised around $150k in SAFE notes.

  1. Orthobrain Richfield, Ohio

Orthobrain provides dentists with the ability to deliver orthodontic solutions to their own patients. This allows dentists to straighten teeth in-house rather than outsourcing to an orthodontist. Dr. Daniel German founded the company in 2016.

  1. Forge Biologics – Grove City, Ohio

Forge Biologics is building a large industrial gene therapy manufacturing facility in Grove City. They raised a $40 million Series A round in July 2020 in a venture round led by Xontogeny.  The lead investor was Perceptive Advisors.  Founder Tim Miller has extensive experience in the therapeutic development industry.
