LINCOLN, NE — Crescent, a Lincoln-based finance startup — which helps users earn up to 6% Annual Percentage Yield (APY) through its high yield mobile app — has announced it has closed a $3.5M pre-seed investment round led by local investors. The company, whose app takes direct aim at traditional savings accounts and high yield savings offerings, says it will use the funds to attract new users to its app and further expand its growing team.
Lincoln native and CEO Grant Roscoe founded the fintech startup in 2018 with the goal of simplifying cryptocurrency-powered financial services for everyday people. Since then, Crescent has recruited senior software engineers from top technology companies, refined its product, and most recently — launched its public waitlist for those interested in becoming early users of the app.
“We have worked to build an experienced team, robust technology, and strong industry relationships. It feels great to announce what we’ve been working on for the last few years, and we have big goals for Crescent’s nationwide launch this year,” Roscoe said.
The app, publicly available soon, will offer early access and rewards to a select number of early subscribers that join the waitlist at www.crescent.app.
