The idea of creating a company centered around events came to Prystai after undertaking some event planning himself for the Greater Omaha Chamber’s Young Professional Council. This experience opened his eyes to “just how bad the tools that were available to those hosting events are.” To help identify the most challenging problems commonly faced in the event hosting industry, Prystai partnered with professionals in the space and talked through thier biggest pain points. According to Prystai, “there were so many problems that we found. Even so, it was difficult to find one we could solve and that companies were going to be willing to pay for.”
After a lot of interviews and contemplation, Prystai found something event hosts were motivated to pay for as long as they could get more attention and traffic to their event. Prystai explained, “I realized that the costs of the events are fixed. That means the real opportunities to drive margins aren’t adding another service. It’s all about the number of attendees.” This concept inspired the idea for Event Vesta, the easy-to-use event discovery and promotion platform that brings hosts and event seekers together.
Event Vesta is also great for those hosting events. The easy-to-use platform allows those hosting to post their events on both their online and app platforms. The Event Vesta website is essentially a search engine for those looking for specific types of events that lay out precisely what you are looking for in a digestible list for you to look through. On the Event Vesta mobile app, in addition to the search function, users are presented with events in a “Tinder type” platform where they can swipe right if they are interested in the event to save it and left if not. If you and a friend are both using the app, you can go to your liked events and see what friends have also liked making it easy to find things you can do together.
The Event Vesta team has created an excellent platform for event-goers. Still, it’s important to remember the platform was designed with those hosting in mind. During the development process, Prystai was constantly in contact with the same people who Inspired him to start Event Vesta “We stacked the deck in our favor,” he told Mug, “by working with these hosts, our final product had all the features event hosts want upon initial release.” The result is an easily customizable, digital “card.” On the “card,” event hosts get to put the time, name, and a primary picture. On the details page for each event, hosts have a customizable page where they can type as much or little of a description as they would like and use simple “what to expect” tags. Event planners can also use the tools on Event Vesta to manage registration. Prystai identified this as one of the natural strengths of the platform. He explained that those hosting could be pretty particular about promoting their event. Event Vesta gives them the freedom they want within the platform.
Prystai understands that there are many ways that people can advertise their events, but what makes Event Vesta different? “With Event Vesta, the advantage a company has with us versus another event board is the way that our product helps them reach a local market.” Many people are searching for a concert to go to on the internet, but that search could turn up results for a show two states away. Prystai and his team are feeling optimistic about the future, saying, “the investment market is flowing more than ever in the Midwest, and we think we could see exponential growth with more adoption.
