OMAHA, NE / March 25, 2023 – On Friday, April 14 the Omaha Startup Job Mixer will be hosting a career fair for Nebraska based-startups from 4-7 p.m. at The Dock in Millwork Commons (1229 Millwork Ave). The mixer will feature over 15 early-stage startups, most of which are headquartered in Omaha, Lincoln and Kearney.
At the event, featured startups will have booths where attendees will have an opportunity to meet with the founders and employees of each company to talk about potential summer internships and full-time opportunities. College students, young and seasoned professionals are encouraged to attend. Attendees can register here.
Those interested in attending the event can expect an opportunity to network with each startup showcased as well as engage with a short panel and Q&A session where employees from a select few of the startups will speak about their personal experience at their respective companies, and why they think individuals should consider working at a startup.
“I stumbled upon an amazing opportunity to work for startup companies in my early career, and I’ve never looked back,” said the event’s creator and lead organizer, Justin Krug. “I wanted to create an event that could help more young professionals, who may lack professional networks, get exposed to the amazing job opportunities at startup companies here in town and grow their professional networks too.”
The Omaha Startup Job Mixer has nearly 200 registered attendees. The event expects additional attendees from local schools in the area, like the University of Nebraska at Omaha, the University of Nebraska-Lincoln, Creighton University, Metro Community College, Northeast Community College to name a few. The event has also caught the eyes of universities and other community groups outside of the state.
“The community support that we’ve already received for this event has truly been above and beyond. From sponsorship support to the buzz circulating throughout the community, I feel strongly that this will be an event that people will remember for years to come,” Krug said.
