Hi, what are you looking for?

SpinTechMRI Wants to Scan Your Brain

Neurological disorders are on the rise worldwide, and MRI technology is at the forefront of helping people find the answers they need. SpinTechMRI has developed a new imaging technique that can scan the whole brain in 5 minutes, providing 15 different types of image contrasts. It’s a powerful tool that provides fast, comprehensive data for serious neurological conditions.

A Global Need

The United Nations reports nearly 1 and 6 people on Earth suffers from neurological disorders such as Alzheimer’s, Parkinson’s, stroke, multiple sclerosis, epilepsy, migraines, brain injuries, or neuroinfections. These numbers continue to rise as MRI scans are now being used to analyze (PICS) mental conditions caused by COVID-19.

In 2021, brain and neurological imaging dominated the MRI market. MRIs are the preferred scan for these conditions. They offer superior quality compared with other computerized tomography scans. Patients also prefer MRIs because they do not expose them to harmful radiation like a CT scan or X-ray.

The MRI market is a $5 billion industry that helps millions of people annually. Conservative estimates expect the MRI market to continue expanding at a CAGR of 7.1% from 2022 to 2030. STAGE software taps into that market and helps an already growing market develop faster and help more people.

Pushing the Boundaries

The little town of Bingham, Michigan is home to start-up SpinTechMRI, which has raised over $6 Million in Series A funding. SpinT’s mission is to push the boundaries of what is possible with MRI technology through an MRI software called STAGE (Strategically Acquired Gradient Echo).

In 2017, Dr. E. Mark Haacke, Ph.D., along with a group of specialists, started SpinTechMRI to solve a problem with MRI technology. Neurologists were facing increased patient volume without easy access to the advanced imaging tools they need to meet rising demand. This dilemma causes the doctor to choose between quality and speed. SpinTechMRI hopes its three decades of research will help neurologists and radiologists improve patient outcomes.

Simple Fix, Big Results

SpinTechMRI’s software is a simple software that fixes this dilemma. Their STAGE rapid multi-contrast quantitative software delivers 40% faster brain imaging with accuracy and detection of critical neurological markers. With almost universal reciprocity, this software can be installed on MRI machines in less than an hour and has been proven to provide better patient outcomes and add tangible clinical value.

SpinTechMRI allows their clients to measure the tangible outcomes of their software on their website. Providers can type in a few numbers in a clinical value calculator, and SpinTech’s website provides users with the projected monetary value that STAGE software will add to their work. According to SpinTechMRI, the average provider can expect an increase of upwards of $500,000 per year in revenue and help 40% more clients.

Driving the Future of Neurological Imaging

Dr. Haacke notes that this work is rewarding not just for growing revenues but for improving the patient experience. One of his patients who had had hours-long scans in the past joking complained he wasn’t “getting his money’s worth” when scanned in just a few minutes with the new technology!

This reaction excites Dr. Haacke and his team: “We are all very excited about this work. It’s not just because we are creating a good business product, but also because it is one of the best feelings to know that we can make a difference in the lives of people around the world.”

MRI technology has come a long way since the days when Nikola Tesla first discovered the rotating magnetic field in 1882. In 2022, there is no telling just how far this software company can push the boundaries of what’s possible with MRI technology. SpinTechMRI is more than just a software company but a partner in driving the future of neurological imaging.
